Special news for you, written by your favorite SCTV guys

Here at the SCTV Studio, Adam and Shalon sure have been keeping busy. This past month we filmed two new Stir Crazy shows, four new Getting Healthy with Deb shows, I-94 Ice Daze at the I-94 Raceway, two Health Awareness Challenge Speakers, the West Central Conference Dance Competition at Melrose High School among other various events.

As the SCTV Live Show is increasing in popularity, we decided to do another version we call, “SCTV Live Prerecorded.” The title may be an oxymoron, but the show contains the same great set and hosts as SCTV Live, it’s just not, well, “live.” SCTV Live Prerecorded is a sit down talk show about various noteworthy things happening around our community.

This past month on SCTV Live Prerecorded, we interviewed an American Idol hopeful from Melrose, Minnesota. Though she had a beautiful voice, did not make it through the first round of auditions. She offered insight into the grueling elimination process and her opinion on the entire experience.

We also aired a Superbowl Special on SCTV Live Prerecorded. Before the Superbowl, we sat down with Rick Skillings from Gridiron Circus who gave us his professional predictions on the Superbowl. Lo and behold, his pick, the Indianapolis Colts took the trophy. We don’t call him a football fanatic for nothing!

On SCTV Live, we had a special “Tribute to Peanut Butter Show,” in which we talked about all things peanut butter. We gave away gourmet peanut butter from PB Loco, and had a contest for a stay at Eddie’s Resort and a $100 gift certificate to the Marina. To win, callers had to guess how long Adam could keep a spoonful of Jungle Banana Peanut Butter in his mouth without taking a swig of milk. Adam lasted a whopping 43 seconds.

Other big prizes given away on the SCTV Live Show were a one night stay and dinner for two at the Grand Casino Mille Lacs and a 14K gold diamond heart necklace from Ice.com.
