This past month, the SCTV Crew has been busy filming exciting local summer events, everything from Melrose 150th Celebration Events to the 1-94 Races to our own original shows as well.

On Around the Corner, Logan Friess did a show on Model Airplanes, a Soap Box Derby, and took the reins of a mechanical bull at the Melrose 150th Anniversary Celebration.

Jenny Deters on Journeys with Jenny also got in on the action of the Melrose 150th Anniversary Celebration. She interviewed a German from the Melrose sister city of Legden Germany, and interviewed the Western Reenactment Group. Jenny also traveled to Osakis to interview Fr. Richard McGuire who is celebrating 40 years in the priesthood.

On Getting Healthy with Deb, Deb Ellering did a comparison on health and money in the SCTV studio.

Stir Crazy traveled to El Portal in Melrose where Rosa and Evelyn taught us how to cook authentic Mexican Food. Recipes from this and all episodes of Stir Crazy are available here.

As always, the Movie Review Show continues to be a success. Adam Saltmarsh and Bob Douvier gave their take on all the latest at the box office this past month.

While high school sports have come to an end, we are continuing to film summer sports. Notably, we filmed and edited the New Munich vs. Freeport Baseball game, announced by Bryan Zollman and Mark Klaphake.

To get more length out of your tapes, switch the play mode to Long Play (LP). The default on most cameras is Short Play (SP). The quality you lose from the switch can’t be detected by the naked eye.
