Ingredients:
20 oz. of Oreo cookies crushed fine
8 oz. cream cheese (softened)
Crush Oreo cookies very fine in a food processor (leave white frosting in).
Add cream cheese that has been softened. Mix together in a
large mixer until well blended.
DO NOT REFRIGERATE this dough, or it will become very hard.
Form the dough into small balls, then place in the refrigerator to cool. These balls should be about the size of a marble.
Dip balls into melted white chocolate. Use a dipping spoon for this.
Do not get any water into your chocolate or it will become hard.
Place on a cookie sheet with waxed paper to cool.
Form the Oreo Mixture into even size balls with the cookie baller. (Make sure that the dough is even with the top so that all the balls are the same size.)
Cut these balls in half and roll, then chill. Place the wax paper in between layers of balls.
Place some of the white chocolate in a crock pot.
Drop one ball at a time into the white chocolate. Scoop it out with the spoon with the hole in it. Tap on the side of the bowl to remove any extra white chocolate. Do this lightly.
Place on a cookie sheet covered with paper. (If there is a
black spot, try to cover it with the white chocolate.)
Once cooled, place them close together— leaving enough space so that when you drizzle the dark chocolate, there is enough space for it to run down the sides of the balls.
Once they are placed together, take dark chocolate (borrow from the “turtle people” to drizzle over the white balls.
HINTS:
If the white chocolate is too hot, there will be a flat spot on the bottom of the ball.
If the white chocolate is too cold, it will be hard to cover the balls.
If there is a black spot when you dump it off the spoon, try to turn the ball with the spoon to cover the dark spot.
Dipping into a small bowl will help to keep your white chocolate white. (If the chocolate sticks to the side of the bowl, you may microwave it for a short time to soften.)
Sometimes there is a dark spot on the bottom of the ball when you get done, this sometimes just happens. Don’t worry, be happy!
Do not freeze the Oreo balls, otherwise the white chocolate will crack, because the chocolate cooled too fast.
