Simple Pasta with Meat Sauce

12 oz. Dry Bowtie Pasta
3 TBSP Olive Oli
1 Large Onion, chopped
4-6 Garlic Cloves, chopped
1 lb. Hot Italian Sausage
1 28 oz. can of Tomato Sauce
1 28 oz cam of Whole Peeled Tomatoes
1 TSP Dried Basil
1 TBSP Dried Oregano
Hot Sauce (optional)
Salt and Pepper to taste

Cook dried pasta in generously salted boiling water until halfway cooked. Strain and lightly coat the pasta with olive oil. Set aside

Lightly brown the Italian sausage with olive oil in a large sauce pan. Add onions, garlic, oregano, basil, hot sauce, salt, and pepper to the pan with the sausage. Cook over medium heat until onions are tender. To the same pan add tomatoes and tomato sauce. Cook over low heat until slightly thickened. Add the pasta right into bubbling sauce. After the pasta is cooked through transfer to a serving platter and serve hot.
